Hi....its Olu here from Obsidian Pyramid! Welcome to my blog.
As this is my first post, I thought I'd start off by introducing myself and what I do. Obsidian Pyramid is my holistic therapies and energy healing practice and is made up of.....well, just me at the moment. Maybe that will change in the future. I offer a number of complementary therapies.....thai massage, thai foot massage, swedish massage, reflexology, reiki & sekhem. I work as a mobile therapist around Bristol Somerset and Wiltshire and out of the Bristol Natural Health Service on Gloucester road, Bristol. Before I started on my current path, I worked for several years as a successful manager of a well known restaurant ignoring my inner voice which kept drawing me towards studying anything to do with the mind, body and spirit. It is said a crisis usually preceeds change. Well, I don't know if thats what happened, but I found myself working every hour of the day in a job, well paid though it was, which I no longer enjoyed. I probably worked harder than most of my colleagues even when I didn't have to. It was like I was running all the time! I had to get out and I knew it. Still it took me almost two years from coming to that decision before I actually did it. Maybe this sounds familiar to some of you! If so, I feel you! Eventually, though, I took the plunge, left the job I had been doing for virtually my entire adult life, registered for a course in thai massage and began a period of training and study which is still ongoing. What helped me make the change? Before I left my old career, I got attuned to Reiki level 1. This is the level at which you can give healing to yourself, your friends and family. I had been thinking about it for a while when someone popped a leaflet in through my letterbox. Synchronicity, huh! It is said that when you are ready, reiki finds you! It is also said that reiki can change your life! Don't know who came up with all the sayings, but I guess it changed mine! I will be talking a bit more about reiki in future posts. After the attunement, I felt calmer inside and able to make changes in my life with more faith and clarity. So having now achieved more qualifications, I spend my time building my practice, studying to improve my knowledge and getting to treat clients from all walks of life. In my spare time, I indulge in my second love, which is practicing yoga. Again, I'll be talking a bit more about this. But for now, I'm going to stop here with some words I heard somewhere about work which seem to relate to this post. I hope they strike a cord with you too. Do what you love.......if that ain't possible, learn to love what you do! Peace! |
